Saint Patrick School Students Participate
in Creche Creation
Saint Patrick School is pleased to display student artwork at the Cathedral of Christ the Light during their Creche Festival. All students in grades K-8 participated in the making of this mosaic. Our younger grade children were assisted by an older student. The original painting done by Brother Martin, used by the Cathedral to advertise this event, was cut up into 270 pieces and redrawn by the students on a larger scale to recreate the mosaic to be a 6' x 7' creche reproduction. Students used oil pastels and blending techniques to recreate their assigned square design.

Operation P.I.N. was our way of helping the Philippines after the tragic earthquake and typhoon. This past week Saint Patrick School Community raised $1500. We are very grateful for everyone's generous donation. We want to especially thank the 5th and 8th graders for all their time and effort to help raise funds to aid the Philippines with their basic necessities.

First Faith Family Luncheon
Saint Patrick School DONATES
In Contra Costa County, one in five children are at serious risk of hunger. During the month of September, dubbed National Hunger Awareness Month by the organization Feeding America, we are called to help provide all families and children with the basic necessities of life, in particular food.
At Saint Patrick School, Service Learning is incorporated into the daily curriculum of students. Each grade has a different Service Learning project for the school year. In response to this call from community and church leaders, the fourth grade class coordinated a school-wide fresh produce drive. The students planned and publicized the drive, and delivered the produce to the Contra Costa Solano County Food Bank in Concord on September 26. In total, the students of our school donated more than 2072 lbs. of fresh produce to local families in need. When the food bank told us the number of pounds donated they also told us that the amount was the largest amount of fresh produce ever brought into the food bank.
