My name is Miss Jessica Cantiller, and I am very excited to be the First Grade teacher at St. Patrick School! I am an UCLA alumna (Go Bruins!), currently pursuing my Masters in Education and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to begin my career in education at St. Patrick School-- especially getting to be with First Graders! I have found that First Graders are always SO eager to learn anything and everything--just like me!
This will be my second year working with First Grade, however, I have been an active member of the St. Patrick Parish community since 2001. My most recent involvement was serving as the Vacation Bible Camp director this past summer. I have been working with kids in informal education settings for eight years in programs such as VBS, Filipino Cultural School, Children’s Liturgy, etc. In these programs, I found my love for working with kids of all ages, and dreamed of a career in formal education.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with family, friends, and my dog, Chance the Yapper (pictured to the right!). Some of my favorite things include visiting museums, drinking tea and coffee, music, learning more about cultures, playing and watching basketball (Go Dubs!!), and Disney!
I’m looking forward to an amazing school year!
