Welcome to ART!
Our students were asked to carve 33 pumpkins for a fund raiser for CASA.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a national association in the United States that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes.
I am very excited to be working with your children this year. This beginning art class teaches the elements of art and the principals of design. This class is designed as a beginning art class for students that will satisfy their Fine Arts requirements for middle school graduation. Students will explore basic art media and techniques, such as drawing, painting, graphic design, photography, collage, printmaking, sculpture and more! Art criticism, aesthetics, and art history are an integral part of the class. Students will be provided with the supplies necessary and will receive an art folder that should be brought to every class. Students will also have many opportunities to explore careers in the arts and showcase their artwork in the community. Since we have class just one day a week, your child may have homework occasionally. I hope you will enjoy the work they bring home.
When your child has missed a class they should see me upon their return or ask a fellow student what they may have missed. This should be done before the next class period in order to stay up with the class.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO ME AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT CLASS AND ASK WHAT WE DID LAST WEEK.
